Interior, furniture and graphic Design for public areas (reception and circulation areas, restaurants, meeting rooms), rooms and suites.
The general austerity of the project would be tempered by the hierarchy of design, by the consequent combination of the conventional and the exceptional. To this effect, the graphics were given a special importance. The tartan patterns of the carpeted floors, specially designed as an evocation of the English origin of the enterprise, were one of the main means used to promote the liveliness of the public areas.
The differentiated characterization of the environments resulted from the variation of the dominant colours, according to the uses of each space. Similarly, the interior signage, in addition to its current function of identifying spaces and routes, would, in certain situations, act as a decorative complement, creating unexpected details within the whole. Thus, for example, the floor identification panels, placed in the atria of the elevators, were materialized as vibrant coloured tapestries, fragmented and dynamic plastic compositions.
As part of the valorization project of Daciano da Costa´s work, the Atelier selected graphic studies for the reissue of the two collections of tapestries, Penta Studies and Penta Fragments.
