The interior design of Hotel Madeira Hilton/Madeira Palácio (1970), took its character from a series of regional formal motifs. The traditional wicker toboggans, typical of the island, are remembered in the sled base support and in the recurring curved structures, which in some cases also result from the reinterpretation of the geometry of vats and barrels, associated with the production of Madeira wine. The colors and patterns chosen for woven and straw-filled surfaces, with a strong artisanal component, are other examples of this regionalist attitude.
Later on, for the design of the CCB project (1990), Daciano da Costa reintroduces furniture from previous works, such as the Palace Chair.
