The vases and ashtray were designed for the Hotel Madeira Hilton / Madeira Palace (1970) where we find Daciano da Costa in interior architecture and furniture. Interpreting the tendencies of the hotel industry at that time, the design of this project took its character from a series of regional formal motifs. The colors and patterns chosen for woven and straw-filled surfaces, with a strong artisanal component, are other examples of this regionalist attitude.

Packaging developed in compact cardboard suggests, like the ceramic pieces, a game of volumes with modular design, allowing for multiple combinations. Its semi-hexagonal shape is designed for the perfect fitting of the pieces, in an exercise of maximizing space and materials. The packaging is, in itself, a piece of design, having received international awards in various competitions.
