About the book: THE HISTORY OF PORTUGUESE DESIGN MIRRORED IN DACIANO DA COSTA’S VISION FOR CCB EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE. In the Belém Cultural Center (CCB) project, several themes that had long been present in Daciano da Costa's career gained particular visibility. But the CCB also constituted a turning point, an opportunity to lay the foundations for a new stage in his creative journey. For the history of Portuguese design, the CCB has the importance of bringing together a unique set of pieces by a reference author, the result of which reflects a particular stage in our contemporary history. The work and its author reinforce each other: they highlight the symbolic function of the building, the collective relevance of its construction and the cultural role of design in defining the forms of an era.
