In the CCB project, several themes that had long been present in Daciano da Costa's career gained particular visibility. But the Belém Cultural Centre was also a turning point, an opportunity to lay the foundations for a new stage in his creative career.

For the history of Portuguese design, the CCB has the importance of bringing together a unique set of pieces by a reference author, with a result that reflects a particular stage in our contemporary history. The work and its author reinforce each other: they emphasise the symbolic function of the building, the collective relevance of the occasion and the cultural role of design in defining the forms of a time. - João Paulo Martins
